History

The History of Juneteenth - the longest-running African American holiday:

Juneteenth is the celebration of the cessation of slavery in the United States. On June 19, 1865 (2.5 years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation), those enslaved in Galveston, TX were ensured freedom by federal troops.

The Story of George Floyd and Minneapolis:

May 25, 2020 set the world on fire, literally, and launched forward the Black Lives Matter Movement. This day George Floyd was lynched on public streets because of an arrest for allegedly using a counterfeit bill. George was forty-six years young begging for his life under Derek Chauvin’s neck. He knelt on his neck for eight minutes and forty two seconds. George’s last words were “I can’t breathe”. However the officers were not held accountable for days. The city of Minneapolis raged and rioted for justice for George.
